Tasmanian government intends to send Greens' Bill to Committee

Description:

Tasmanian Deputy Premier Lara Giddings served notice that she intends to move that the Greens' Dying with Dignity Bill 2009 be sent to a parliamentary committee for study and public submissions. The Greens oppose the move, arguing that it would impose unnecessary delay.

[A EuthaNEWSia reader reports that a separate move for committee referral in the Upper House was defeated Wednesday when only 4 of 15 members supported the referral.]
