An Angus Reid poll conducted on August 5th found that 77% of Quebec residents supported legalizing euthanasia, and 78% supported legalizing doctor-assisted suicide.

Last month, in discussing a report to be released next November, Yves Robert, the secretary of the Quebec College of Physicians, said: "We may go as far as to recommend that in certain cases, where the pain is unbearable, the amount of analgesic required could correspond to a form of euthanasia."
