Russell Wangersky writes about listening to the two hour
discussion of euthanasia on the CBC's
Cross Country Checkup radio
program, and contrasting the calm discussion with the
difficult death of his mother from cancer. She asked him
to end her life, and he did not. He concludes: "I'm
still torn by my own decision, and the thing I didn't do
for my mother."
Earlier, he said: "The part I did hear included a
National Post columnist and a doctor, waxing
philosophical about the moral rights and wrongs of the
issue - and it made me think that there's a huge gulf
between thinking and knowing."
