Atlanta: the Final Exit Network prosecution

Description: [of the article from the Atlanta Magazine]

Atlanta Magazine tells the story behind the assisted suicide charges brought against members of the Final Exit Network (FEN). On June 19, 2008, John Celmer ended his life with helium inhalation in the presence of two FEN Exit Guides. Celmer had undergone a disfiguring series of surgeries for oral cancer.

Atlanta Magazine interviews Sue Celmer, John's spouse; Ted Goodwin, 65, one of the Exit Guides and also FEN's president at the time; and Claire Blehr, 77, the other Exit Guide. FEN's procedures are explained, and the sequence of events prior to Celmer's death are described. [Thanks to World right-to-die news list for the alert on this story.]
